The Payson Scottish Festival is an annual celebration of Scottish and Celtic heritage held at Memorial Park in Payson, Utah. Established in 1984, it is one of Utah's most popular cultural events and is notable for offering free admission to the public. The festival features a variety of traditional Scottish competitions and cultural displays:

  • Highland Athletics: Competitions include the caber toss (the festival hosts the Utah Caber Championship), hammer throw, and weight for height.

  • Strongman Events: Typically held on Friday evening, featuring feats of strength.

  • Piping & Drumming: Includes solo piping and drumming competitions, as well as performances by massed pipe bands.

  • Highland Dance: Competitions and demonstrations of traditional Scottish dances, such as the sword dance.
